Stream BritBox for FREE with EE from March

EE is adding BritBox to its list of pay monthly freebies. From 13 March, EE customers on pay monthly plans will be able to stream BritBox on various devices without touching their data allowance; better yet, customers will receive a six-month subscription to the new streaming service for free.

BritBox joins a line-up of freebies that fall under the Entertainment on EE moniker. Currently, the mobile network is also offering customers six months of MTV Play and Apple Music and three months of BT Sport for free - using these perks costs nothing, and won’t affect your data allowance.

Of course, once the three/six-month free period is up, you will be charged a monthly fee to continue using the service. In the case of BritBox, that fee is £6/mth.

For the unaware, BritBox is a streaming service that launched in the UK on 7 November 2019. It’s a collaborative effort between BBC and ITV, and as such offers content from both channels, including Love Island, Gavin and Stacey, Broadchurch, Doctor Who, The Crown and The Office. Content from Channel 4 is due to arrive on the platform this year.

The 30-day free trial that ran alongside BritBox’s launch has obviously long since expired, so if you’re interested in dipping your toe in the water of a streaming service that isn’t Netflix or Now TV, and you happen to be an EE customer, this offer might be for you.

If you’re not fussed, however, EE also offers similar promotions on all sorts of other streaming services. Choosing one of the network’s Smart plans will give you access to Swappable Benefits, which can be bolted onto your data plan for a monthly fee.

The Music Data Pass, for example, gives you access to Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal, whilst the Video Data Pass lets you watch content on Netflix, BBC iPlayer and BT Sport - all without touching your data. You can find out more here .
