Samsung reveals world's first TV-matching curved soundbar

Samsung has unveiled the world's first curved soundbar. Announecd today at IFA, the HW-H7500 and H7501 are designed to work with the company's curved range of TVs and will have an identical curvature radius of 4,200mm.

The curved soundbars will also have a brushed aluminium finish and measure 42mm wide. Both models will be compatible with Samsung's 55in and 65in curved TV models, such as the HU8500 series.

It will also have 8.1 channel support and two speaker units on both sides of the soundbar, enabling it to deliver sound from three directions to help create the feeling of a surround sound system. The curved soundbar can also mounted to the wall, as Samsung stated it can be installed underneath the TV to replace the TV stand without the need to drill separate holes into the wall.

"Following the successful launch of our Curved TVs, Samsung is looking to expand the curved line-up with the introduction of the Curved Soundbar, allowing us to now offer a total curved experience for the consumer," said Robert King, Samsung's UK and Ireland Vice President of the Consumer Electronics.

"As the market leader in curved technology, Samsung strives to create the most complete home entertainment experience – whether that’s watching the latest 4K content on our Curved UHD TVs, immersing yourself in incredible surround sound or listening to the latest music throughout your home."

The curved soundbar was also announced alongside Samsung's new M3 Multiroom speaker, which joins the M5 and M7 speakers in Samsung's wireless home entertainment series. Samsung said the M3 will be smaller than the rest of the M series and will also be more keenly priced, but did not give details about UK pricing for either the M3 or the curved soundbars.
